U.K. post-punk band Red Lorry Yellow Lorry is set to release their album Strange Kind of Paradise via COP International on July 7. The album features 10 tracks written by vocalist/guitarist Chris Reed and guitarist David “Wolfie” Wolfenden, tackling themes of chaos, societal decay, and the quest for meaning. The lead single, “Walking On Air,” captures their defiant spirit against corruption. Notably, “Driving Black,” previously released in December, is included in two mixes by Simon “Ding” Archer and John Fryer. This album marks a significant moment, as it is touted to be their final studio offering.
In reflecting on the album’s themes, how do you think the current societal climate influences artistic expression in music today?
