In 2019, Test Dept triumphantly returned after a 20-year hiatus with their album Disturbance. They’ve since signed with Artoffact Records and released two remix singles: the Imperial Black Unit remix of "Information Scare" and the JD Twitch remix of "Full Spectrum Dominance," along with instrumental and radio edit versions. Their back catalog is now more accessible on Bandcamp, and they’re working on a new studio album. The band has also collaborated with the Gary Clarke Dance Company for the tour “Detention” and will perform at notable festivals this October.
Reflecting on their evolution, how do you think the resurgence of industrial music in contemporary scenes influences the sound and message of legacy bands like Test Dept?
