On August 29, Kristof Bathory, founder of Dawn of Ashes, unveiled two new projects: “Echoes Beneath the Black Horizon,” a solo dark ambient piece aimed at exploring modular synthesis and analog sound design, and “Oblivion,” an album from his side project Bleak Heaven, which narrates the tragic Icarus-9 mission through a horror/sci-fi lens. “Oblivion” tells a chilling tale of Dr. Elias Varn’s failed experiments, leading to a disastrous fate for the crew.
