French vocalist Berne Evol and guitarist Brice Delourmel, longtime collaborators, have unveiled their debut album as Years of Shame, titled Primary. The project blends sadwave with elements of shoegaze and industrial dance, drawing inspiration from personal challenges and a quest for self-discovery. Two singles, “Heat” and “Trust,” have been released, with the album set to drop on February 6, 2026, via Icy Cold Records. They aim to explore new musical avenues while honoring their coldwave roots.
What is it about the themes of personal struggle and self-discovery that resonates so deeply in today’s music, and how do you think it shapes the listener’s experience?
