The Noise Who Runs, comprised of Ian Pickering and Felipe Goes, will release their new album, Re:GenX, on May 8, 2026—their first new material in two-and-a-half years. This upcoming album features 10 tracks written by Pickering, showcasing a shift towards more experimental electronic sounds, aided by producer Colin Cameron Allrich. Notably, the album carries forward the themes introduced in their Come and Join the Beautiful Army EP from January 2024. The cover art creatively manipulates an iconic image from The Breakfast Club. Additionally, Pickering’s collaboration with Slighter on the track "Culture" adds to a rich period of artistic activity.
How do you think The Noise Who Runs’ shift toward experimental electronic music will resonate with their existing fanbase, and what impact could it have on attracting new listeners?
