Relapse Records has unveiled the lyric video for “The Family,” the second single from Hoaxed’s upcoming album Death Knocks. The song explores themes of inherited responsibilities and the weight of loyalty from birth, described by the band as a familiar darkness. The evocative video features dancers Rosie Yerke and Erik O’Banion and follows the earlier release of “Where the Seas Fall Silent.” This album marks the first appearance of new bassist/vocalist April Dimmick, contributing to Hoaxed’s evolving sound, alongside founding members Kat Keo and Kim Coffel. Recorded with producer Gabe Johnston and mixed by Arthur Rizk, Death Knocks is set for release on February 13.
As we consider the themes of inherited responsibility and loyalty in “The Family,” how do these concepts shape our understanding of personal identity and relationships in contemporary society?
