IDLES have unveiled a new track titled "Rabbit Run," featured in the soundtrack for Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming film Caught Stealing. The song encapsulates the film’s theme of facing fears directly and is among four original tracks contributed by the band, who also recorded the film’s full score. Scheduled for digital release on August 29th, the soundtrack is being anticipated alongside the film’s premiere, which stars Austin Butler and Matt Smith.

In a serendipitous collaboration stemming from a backstage meeting, IDLES’ frontman Joe Talbot expressed his admiration for Aronofsky, revealing a deep personal connection to the director’s work. This project represents a fusion of their punk essence with cinematic storytelling, illustrating how unconventional partnerships can drive artistic innovation.

Discussion Prompt: How do you think the integration of a band’s unique sound into a film score impacts both the viewing experience and the band’s musical identity?
