Irish rockers Just Mustard are set to release their third album, WE WERE JUST HERE, on October 24th via Partisan, showcasing a shift towards a more optimistic sound. The title track, which follows their previous single “POLLYANNA,” blends gentle vocals with pulsating synths, taking their minimalist noise rock into a dreamier, goth-like realm. This album comes after their 2022 effort Heart Under, which had a noisier vibe, reflecting the band’s evolution.
Given that vocalist Katie Ball has aimed to channel joy and optimism in this new project, how do you think the balance between light and darkness in music influences listeners’ emotions and perspectives?
