Outer Darkness Records has launched the second installment of its Blasphemies series, featuring remixes in a format reminiscent of the ’90s "Remix Wars." Book II includes contributions from aggrotech group Hexen Prozess, industrial/darkwave duo Antidote For Annie, and electro/synthpop artist Lillian Martin (aka Fatigue and Sawtooth). Released on October 3, it follows last year’s Book I and comprises six remixes of each artist’s work. Among the highlights is Sawtooth’s Roaring mix of “Black Knife,” inspired by a Deltarune RPG boss, offered as a name-your-price track on Bandcamp.
With this release, how do you think nostalgia for the ’90s remix culture influences contemporary electronic music, and does it impact the creativity of today’s artists?
