Electronic music producer Aleph Om has announced the upcoming release of Venerable Extremities: Vol. II, focusing on his experimental demos crafted on home piano between 2017-2018. This collection features high-quality remixes of drones recorded via unconventional methods like cross-phase amplifiers and lo-fi cassette recorders, incorporating techniques such as reverse bass guitar and granular synthesis. Serving as B-sides to his previous works, this volume explores "the transient nature of human expression through obsolete media." With a preview track, “Banktube Dronevort,” available now, the album is set for release on October 10.
Is the exploration of obsolete media in modern music a reflection of our nostalgia, or does it speak to the impermanence of digital culture in general?
