Following the release of Generation Loss, Riots on Rewind, the collaborative project by James Church and XSRY, has launched a new remix companion centered on "The Nature of Power Lines." This maxi-single features a mix of glitch-laden IDM and experimental electro from various artists, adding depth to the original themes of the album, which explored body and mind modification through artificial means. Additionally, CRLStudios unveiled the first volume of Angel of Violence’s Weaponized Incompetence, a reflective album tackling societal ignorance, alongside a surprise EP from Pandora’s Black Book that showcases Church’s introspective creativity.
Given the thematic explorations of artificial transformation and societal critique present in these new releases, how do you think contemporary music serves as a platform for discussing complex social issues?
