Roman Petro, known as ERGO and the force behind Gaping Chasm, has released Ergospective, an album that compiles 15 tracks showcasing his creative evolution over the past 30 years. Mastered by Anatoly "Tokee" Grinberg, this collection draws from demos recorded between 1995 and 2000, blending dark ambient, industrial/EBM, and dark electro styles. It serves as both a personal narrative and a chronicle of the underground club scene before the digital age took hold. Ergospective is now available in digital and CD formats via Aliens Production.
How does the evolution of music technology and distribution methods influence the way we perceive and appreciate underground scenes like that of the ’90s?
