Echoberyl has unveiled The Nightmare Queen EP to celebrate Halloween, drawing inspiration from Johann Heinrich Füssli’s iconic 1781 painting “The Nightmare.” This release features tracks that reflect gothic and erotic themes, echoing literary influences from Mary Shelley and Cervantes’ Don Quixote. The EP includes an original version of “The Nightmare Queen,” a Creepy remix, and an alternate version of “Twilight Zone,” showcasing the duo’s artistic depth and commitment, particularly evident in the animated video they worked on for hundreds of hours. Dubbed one of 2024’s “most compelling dark alternative releases,” The Nightmare Queen marks Echoberyl’s second project this year.
How do you think art and literature from past centuries continue to resonate in modern music and visual media?
