Pittsburgh’s electro art/rock duo Hemlock For Socrates has released the concluding entry of their summer trilogy, titled Nidus. This EP intricately weaves together the baroque industrial/rock elements from Miasma and the airy, ambient post-punk love songs found in Cordis. Lyrically, Nidus explores themes of wisdom gained through experience, the pain of loss, and the balance between solitude and interdependence. The EP is now available on Bandcamp, and the duo plans to support the release with a short tour along the East Coast and Midwest.
What do you think the blending of musical styles in Nidus signifies about the evolution of the duo’s artistic expression?
