HIDE, the Chicago duo of Heather Hannoura and Seth Sher, has announced their highly anticipated album, Spit or Swallow Every Soul Will Taste Death, set to release on September 11 via Get Better Records. The album follows their 2021 release Interior Terror and includes previously released singles like "Deeper Than Death (Here on Earth) I Destroy" and "Grief Party Guest List," while earlier teasers, "Suffer" and "I Lick the Blade Clean," will not appear on the album. The project is produced by Sanford Parker and aims to support mutual aid efforts for Palestinians, as seen in their recent live recording and single.
Given the themes of mortality and social justice explored in their music, how do you think HIDE’s political activism informs their artistic expression, and what impact does it have on their audience?
