On January 23, Metropolis Records released two new singles from veteran electro/industrial acts: Flesh Field’s "Supplication" and Dawn of Ashes’ "Penumbra." Flesh Field’s track, a deeply personal exploration of longing and trauma, is the precursor to the upcoming album On Enmity, set to drop on February 20. Meanwhile, Dawn of Ashes’ "Penumbra," featuring Suicide Commando, channels early 2000s dark electro intensity and foreshadows their Anatomy of Suffering album, coming on March 20. Additionally, Dawn of Ashes will tour the West Coast from January 24 to February 6, alongside Antania and Social Abyss.
What role do you think nostalgia plays in the creative process of artists, particularly those in genres like electro/industrial?
