L.A. synthpop trio Nuovo Testamento has just unveiled their new single and video, "Picture Perfect," the first taste of their upcoming EP, Trouble, set for release on July 25. The track celebrates a pure, joyful desire and trust, blending catchy ’80s and ’90s synth-pop with elements of freestyle and dark Italo-disco. The vibrant video, directed by Alfred Lopez, features vocalist Chelsey Crowley, drummer Giacomo Zatti, and keyboardist Andrew Mantione alongside dancers, embodying a lively pop aesthetic. Following their 2023 album Love Lines, the band will also perform live in Los Angeles on July 12 and 13 and across the U.S. in August and September.
As we explore the themes of adoration and trust in "Picture Perfect," how do you think the nostalgia of ’80s and ’90s pop influences modern interpretations of desire in music today?
