Synthpunk trio HIRAKI and shoegazing post-rockers Meejah are set to release their collaborative EP, Interwoven, on March 13 through Pelagic Records. This four-track EP showcases a unique fusion of their musical styles, with each band driving two tracks featuring the other. It marks HIRAKI’s third release since joining Pelagic, following their recent singles. Meanwhile, Meejah’s Interwoven EP follows their debut album, Queen of Spring, which explores themes tied to Nordic melancholia and Chinese cosmology.
Given this collaboration merges distinct genres and cultural influences, how do you think such partnerships can reshape listeners’ perceptions of music genres and the artists involved?
