British act Social Youth Cult has announced their debut album, The Lighthouse, set to release on November 2. After nearly two years of development, the band has evolved from darkwave influences to a dynamic blend of northern English post-punk and heavier, ritualistic elements. Their single “Close to Nothing” hints at this new direction. They’ve quickly gained traction in the U.K. post-punk/gothic scene, performing live with acts like Vision Video, and recently released their debut EP, Memento Vivere. The album will launch at the Whitby Goth Weekend, with further performances scheduled in Newcastle and Nottingham.
