Swiss trio Torpedo has released their latest album, What the Fucked Do We All Do Now? | Lights, which combines a noisy punk aesthetic with poignant socio-political themes. The band describes the work as "a poem of change," advocating for environmental, feminist, non-binary, anti-racist, anti-violent, and anti-capitalist causes. The album is complemented by activist artwork and a zine that delve into these issues. A video for the track “Some Wolves” features ethereal imagery reflecting on unity with nature. Following their 2022 album, Torpedo’s new work was launched as a limited vinyl edition and will have a second installment released later this year. The band will also be on a U.S. West Coast tour starting July 10.
Given Torpedo’s commitment to addressing pressing global issues through their music, how can artists effectively balance their creative expression with activism, especially in the current socio-political landscape?
