Post-punk electronic duo Immersion has announced their new album, WTF??, set for release on September 26. This record critiques today’s "dark, divisive, and dangerous times," reflecting the urgency and immediacy felt by Colin Newman (of Wire) and Malka Spigel during their tours. The lead single, “Use It Don’t Lose It,” released on July 28, captures their concerns in direct language, complemented by a thought-provoking video. After a recent focus on their collaborative Nanocluster series, this album marks a significant artistic pivot. Immersion will tour the U.K. with various performances starting on August 30, including a listening party in Brighton on October 3.
Given the themes of urgent social critique in their new work, how do you think music can effectively foster dialogue around divisive issues in today’s society?
