The UK post-punk band Shame is set to release their fourth studio album, Cutthroat, on September 5th, featuring 12 new tracks produced by John Congleton. Frontman Charlie Steen describes the album as reflecting the “cowards, cunts, and hypocrites” in today’s world, driven by a primal hunger for something better. The lead single, "Cutthroat," merges arrogance with insecurity and is inspired by the paradoxical themes in Oscar Wilde’s works. Alongside the album announcement, the band has revealed an extensive UK and European tour.
What do you think drives artists like Shame to confront societal issues in their music, and how can this raw honesty resonate with listeners in today’s chaotic world?
